Hadleigh is a town in southeast, Essex – probably best known for its castle “Hadleigh Castle” and the country park that surrounds it. The castle has been a romantic ruin for a few hundred years now, but parts of the two towers are still standing. Set at the top of a hill overlooking the Thames Estuary, it is possible to see as far as Canary Wharf. Another building of note is St. James the Less Church. Hadleigh Farm run by the Salvation Army is set within the Hadleigh Country Park and will play host to the mountain bike events for the Games.
